What is a vampire facelift?
You may have heard the vampire facelift being mentioned by stars such as Kim Kardashian. The popular facial rejuvenation technique has become the go-to treatment for those looking for a more natural solution to non-surgical facial aesthetic treatments. Whilst the interest in this cutting-edge treatment has certainly increased, there are many people who are still left in the dark about what it actually is and how it works. That’s why we’ve decided to explain everything you need to know about the vampire facelift in our latest blog.
How does the vampire facelift work?
As you might have guessed by the name, the vampire facelift involves taking components from your blood and using it to combat the appearance of lines and wrinkles to generate younger looking skin. Here’s how it works…
Everybody’s blood contains a natural product called platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a protein that has natural healing properties and can be used to trigger collagen growth. The vampire facelift uses these properties from your blood as a natural rejuvenation technique. The treatment involves taking two teaspoons of blood and spinning it in a process called centrifugation, which separates the blood’s red and white cells from the platelets and plasma. The PRP serum is then extracted and injected into the face, stimulating natural collagen growth and softening the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It can also help to improve the texture and complexion of your skin too.
Who is the vampire facelift suitable for?
The vampire facelift is the perfect treatment for anyone who would like fresher, younger looking skin without having to inject their body with toxins or undergo an invasive surgical procedure. In fact, because the treatment uses your body’s own natural resources, it is much safer than other aesthetic treatments. Here are a few of the reasons our clients at Ten Facial Aesthetics opt for the vampire facelift:
- Improving facial scarring – The natural healing properties of PRP repairs damaged skin
- Reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles
- Transforming dull complexions – PRP helps to generate a ‘natural flush’
- Facial contouring – adds definition and plumpness to key areas of the face
- Tightening up thin or loose facial skin
